Teknon Launch New Range at Fisher Suppliers Event

Along with 23 other top suppliers, Teknon attended the Fisher Scientific Suppliers event in Portugal. This event took place from the 2nd to the 5th of January and coincided with the launch of Fisher Scientific 2007 chemical and apparatus catalogues. Teknon trained over 40 Fisher Scientific sales personnel on the features and benefits of the Teknon range. Fisher Scientific staff are now equipped with literature, samples and Teknon application guide information to enable them to expoit their 3 year exclusive trading deal in the laboratories market in full. New entrants to the advanced cleaning market, Teknon have just launched the results of an independent and anonymous testing project commissioned by them at one of the country's leading research labs:

Teknon Launch Interactive CD rom Demonstration

Teknon have launched a CD rom showing the performance of Teknon 100 against the market leading brand in a controlled demonstration. This CD clearly shows the superior cleaning performance of Teknon 100 compared to the well known leading brand. This CD also includes information from the independent product testing that was carried out at Cranfield University of Technology. Teknon 100 is their new surface-active deodorising cleaner, degreaser, and radioactive decontaminator. It's perfect for use on glassware, stainless steel, ceramics, rubber and many of the specialist plastics used in medical and specialised industrial applications.

Before the new formulation was released for external testing, an extensive series of in-house tests was performed using a wide range of contaminants and cleaning techniques. This enabled the Teknon R & D team to benchmark performance against known market leading formulations.

"We know it was good" said Teknon R&D Director Pete Bacon, "but we also knew that to be taken seriously we had to have our formulation pitched directly against our competitors in a truly independent and rigorous test".

Cranfield University was commissioned and given Teknon 100, as well as the current market leading brand, anonymously packaged. They were asked to apply the samples to a variety of contaminants typically found in the laboratory environment, including animal fat, grease and vegetable oil.

The latest and most accurate techniques for testing the effectiveness of various cleaners were employed, including a highly advanced laser spectroscopy system, capable of detecting contaminant removal at a nanometer level of measurement.

The results surprised both Cranfield and the Teknon teams!

In every test the new Teknon product out-performed the current market leader, and in all of the tests out-performed by a margin of at least 35%. See the results (PDF).
